i began "collecting" my hair in october 1992. i "collect" it from my brush each day and put it in a brown paper bag i keep for this purpose under my bathroom sink. the "collecting" of my hair has become a part of my daily routine...

the bag of my hair is now nearly three-quarters full. the bag with my "fallen" hair has become very heavy. i carry around this kind of weight on my head as well. no wonder i get headaches...

i should be bald by now i think, judging from the amount of hair in my brown paper bag. but no, it's still long, thick, coarse, and turning whiter by the year...

last march, i displayed my brown paper bag of hair in an art exhibit. a couple of viewers told me it was their favorite piece of mine in the show. one person (a male) asked permission to hold the bag of hair, to feel its weight he said...

people often comment to me about my hair...manely its color and texture. most comments come from much older women whose hair is now very short, thin, or some horribly dyed color. and, i wonder, what will my hair look like at their age?
