Muriel Fry, England

Having "suffered" all my life with an hereditary condition of very thin, fine hair, impossible to manage in any way that did not involve time, trouble, and expense, it was completely liberating to decide to go to a "barber" in 1992 and go for a very minimum look. Ever since then I have been able to ignore my difficult hair, simply washing it daily, towelling it dry and knowing it is "smart" without any fuss. Having my bi-monthly hair cut reinforces the liberation and I no longer worry that the style needs care and maintenance or will be completely spoilt by a breath of wind or wearing a hat.
